The Merck Institute for Science Education (MISE) has created and implemented a successful model of high-quality professional development which has been widely recognized and closely evaluated so that lessons learned can be shared with educators and policy-makers throughout the country and throughout the world. MISE is committed to contributing to the field of science education through disseminating resources and supporting the work of school districts and education organizations.
Research Reports and Case Studies about MISE programs describe the Partnership for Systemic Change, the professional community of which MISE is an important partner. These reports describe MISE's major NSF-funded projects as well as the IN-STEP program, a partnership among MISE, MSD Thailand, and Kenan Institute Asia.
In addition to sharing lessons learned from its own work, MISE is committed to disseminating new research on teaching and learning. Most recently MISE supported the publication of Ready, Set, SCIENCE!, a publication of the National Research Council.
